All’attenzione di Andros KyprianouSegretario generale del CC di AKEL
Caro Andros, cari compagni,
a nome del Partito Comunista Italiano esprimiamo le nostre condoglianze per la scomparsa del compagno Dimitris Christofias ad Akel, alla sua famiglia ed a tutto il popolo cipriota.
La sua perdita addolora tutti i comunisti ed i sinceri democratici del mondo. La sua vita è stata interamente dedicata alla lotta per la pace e per Cipro unita, e nel corso di tutta la sua vita non ha mai rinunciato alla lotta per il socialismo, da militante e dirigente di Akel, come pure da rappresentate del popolo cipriota, fino alla sua elezione a presidente della Repubblica, incarico che servito con grande onore e tutto incentrato al processo di riunificazione del paese.
I comunisti italiani ammainano le proprie bandiere in segno di rispetto per la sua grande persona ed in questo difficile momento, si stringono attorno alla sua famiglia ed i suoi amici e tutti i compagni di Akel.

To the kind attention of Andros Kyprianou, General Secretary of the CC of AKEL
Dear Andros, dear comrades,
on behalf of the Italian Communist Party we express our condolences for the loss of comrade Dimitris Christofias to Akel, to his family and to all the Cypriot people.
His passing has left all communists and the sincere democrats of the world grief-stricken. His life was entirely dedicated to the struggle for peace and united Cyprus, and throughout his life he never gave up the struggle for socialism, as a militant and leader of Akel, as well as representative of the Cypriot people, until his election as President of the Republic, assignment that he has served with great honour and where he attached all importance to the process of reunification of the country.
The Italian Communists lower their flags in a sign of respect for his great person and at this difficult moment, they gather around his family and his friends and to all of Akel’s comrades.
